Education & Capacity Building
PET designs and delivers practical education, training and capacity-building programmes for local self-governments, professionals, civil society organizations, youth and community actors working on energy transition, climate action and local sustainable development.
Tailor-Made Training Programmes: PET develops customized training formats that combine policy, legal, technical and community engagement perspectives. The programmes address core energy transition topics, including citizen energy, energy communities, municipal energy planning, building renovation, heat pumps and e-mobility, while also covering broader transition-related themes such as Nature-based Solutions and Blue Economy concepts, where they support climate resilience, sustainability and just transition.
Vocational and Professional Education: PET equips professionals and local practitioners with practical knowledge related to energy efficiency, renewable energy, climate resilience and environmental protection, with a focus on solutions that can be applied at the local level.
Training for Municipal Energy Managers: Through its cooperation with GIZ, PET delivered hands-on training for municipal energy managers on municipal energy planning and their role in supporting citizen energy and energy communities, including financial models, legal frameworks and participatory planning.
Energy Communities Online Training: PET is currently the only Serbian organization delivering the EU Espresso online training program for municipal representatives and local actors on energy communities.
Youth Education and PET Youth NET: PET Youth NET is PET’s youth network and alumni base, bringing together students and young professionals who have completed the organization’s School of Energy Transition. The programme introduces participants to key concepts of energy transition, citizen energy, climate action, building renovation, local energy planning and community-based solutions. Through workshops, mentoring, peer learning and regional study visits, PET Youth NET connects young people with practical examples from Serbia and the region, while creating a pool of emerging energy transition actors who can contribute to future local initiatives, projects and advocacy efforts.
